Williams Akpabio -AKHA (Aide), Uyo The Hon. Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey in today's plenary presented list of Commissioners and Special Advisers forwarded by  His Excellency Gov. Udom Emmanuel seeking for clearance and confirmation for appointment via letter no. GHU/AKS/S/104/VOL.9/579 of 18th December, 2020 in line with section 192 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.  The nominees are: Uko Essien Udom, SAN Idongesit Iboro Etiebiet John James Etim Pastor Umo Eno Meanwhile, the Hon. Speaker refered the matter to House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Right and Public Petition for further legislative actions and to report back to the house in two (2) days time.  (C) Ndiuwem Okuku - AKHA, Uyo As part of measures to ensure accountability and transparency in the state financial records, the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, through its Ad-Hoc Committee, has commenced investigation into the alleged ‘faulty 2019 Audit/Accounts Report of the State Government.’  The Sir Udo Kierian Akpan-led ad-hoc Committee, which met on Monday at the Conference Room of the Assembly, cross-examined members of the State Executive Council over the discrepancies in the 2019 Audit/Account Report. South-South Speakers’ Forum, through its Chairman and Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has appointed Mr. Donatus Archibong Okon as its Administrative Secretary. According to SA (Media) to Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Mr. darlington Udobong, the appointment of Mr. Okon, via letter No. AKHA/SP/30/VII/1114 signed by the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Mr. Charles Iwatt, and dated November 24, 2020, takes effect from November 16, 2020.   The letter also stated that “It is the Forum’s hope that you will add value and employ your best attributes in the discharge of your duties,”. The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has today passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill worth N456.251 billion, thus indicating an increase of 4.7% from the sum of N435.652 billion that the state governor had earlier presented.  The approval of the appropriation bill is sequel to a report presented by the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Rt.
