 Williams Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA) Uyo The 7th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has today cleared and confirmed Justice Ekaete Obot as the substantive  Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State. The House resolved this after due consideration of the letter forwarded to the House of Assembly by his Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel in line with Section 271(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended. Recalled that His Lordship Justice Ekaete Obot  took Oaths of Office and Allegiance, as the acting State Chief Judge by Governor Udom Emmanuel following the retirement of Justice Godwin Abraham on Wednesday, 30th June 2021. Meanwhile, the clerk of the House Mrs Mandu Umoren was directed to communicate the House Resolution to His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Williams Akpabio - Information Unit, AKHA, (Uyo) Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in its plenary today confirm the appointment of the former State PDP Chairman Obong Paul Ekpo and four others as Chairman and members of Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) The confirmation follows the report of House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Right and Public Petitions which recommended for the approval of the appointment of His Excellency's nominee for the Board as follows: 1. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has nominated a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, as Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board. This was contained in a memo sent to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey at Tuesday Plenary. Others nominated include Mr Moses Enoidem, Mr Nkorok Ambrose, Ini Friday Akpan, Member and Mr Johnny Udoh, Member.                     Ini Friday Akpan Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, referred the matter to the House Committee on Committee on Justice, Human Rights and Public Petitions for further legislative actions and to report back to the House within two days.

Aniekan Bassey in today's plenary presented list of Commissioners and Special Advisers forwarded by  His Excellency Gov. Udom Emmanuel seeking for clearance and confirmation for appointment via letter no. GHU/AKS/S/104/VOL.9/579 of 18th December, 2020 in line with section 192 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.  The nominees are: Uko Essien Udom, SAN Idongesit Iboro Etiebiet John James Etim Pastor Umo Eno Meanwhile, the Hon.
