MURDER OF MISS INIUBONG UMOREN: CULPRIT(S) MUST BE EXPEDITIOUSLY AND CONCLUSIVELY PROSECUTED - SPEAKER AKHA

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is indeed pained by the sad news of the abduction, rape and subsequent murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren, 26, a graduand of Philosophy, University of Uyo and an indigene of Oruk Anam Local Government Area.  According to press release signed by the Chairman House Committee on Information, Rt. Hon. Aniefiok Dennis and member representing Etinan State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Information from the desk of the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO) Akwa Ibom State command is that the late Iniubong Umoren was lured by one Mr Uduak Frank Akpan, 20 years, under the guise of providing her a job. A'IBOM ASSEMBLY PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO PDP OVER THE DEMISE OF UDO EKPENYONG

The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State  House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aniekan Bassey on Monday led members of the 7th Assembly to the State Secretariat of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Atan Offot, Uyo on a condolence visit to the leadership of the Party over the demise of the party Chairman, late Obong Udo Ekpenyong. In his speech, the Speaker described the late party Chairman as a commmitted servant leader whose loyalty to the party remains unquestionable till his death. He described the late party Chairman as a  man known for his tenacity, uprightness and discipline who will always fight for the interest of the downtrodden. SPEAKER EXTOLS LATE OTUEKONG NKANGA'S VIRTUES

Vice Chairman, Conference of Nigerian Speakers and Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aniekan Bassey accompanied the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife, Dr Martha Emmanuel, Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Duoye Diri, , Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo and the state Chief Judge, Justice Godwin Abraham to pay their last respect to late Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga  whose remains were committed to earth today. They were joined by many other dignitaries within and outside the state at the deceased home town, Ikot Nya in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. In a condolence message to bereaved family, the Speaker described late Otuekong Nkanga as a collosus, elder statesman, reverred leader and touchbearer of Akwa Ibom State  whose legacies and contributions to humanity will forever be remembered.
