The Committee led by its Chairman Hon. (Chief) Effiong Johnson member representing Mbo State Constituency were on ground at the Inl Local Government Secretariat at Odoro Ikpe for a stakeholders meeting.  As part of the oversight function of the committee, the main aim of the meeting was for fact findings to ascertain the real courses of the crises, the possible way forward and to sort for a lasting solution to avert further reoccurrence. Williams Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA), Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has today removes the embattled Oruk Anam Local Government Council Vice Chairman Hon. Abasiama Etokakpan from office. His removal based on the report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the impeachment of Abasiama Etokakpan as Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council as presented at the floor of the house. Adopting the report of the ad-hoc Committee as presented by the Committee chairman Hon. (Barr.) Aniefiok Dennis, the Deputy House Leader and member representing Etinan State Constituency, the house resolved that Abasiama Etokakpan Stand removed as the Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council. South-South Speakers’ Forum, through its Chairman and Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has appointed Mr. Donatus Archibong Okon as its Administrative Secretary. According to SA (Media) to Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Mr. darlington Udobong, the appointment of Mr. Okon, via letter No. AKHA/SP/30/VII/1114 signed by the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Mr. Charles Iwatt, and dated November 24, 2020, takes effect from November 16, 2020.   The letter also stated that “It is the Forum’s hope that you will add value and employ your best attributes in the discharge of your duties,”. Mr. Okon, a native of Uruan Local Government Area, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in it's plenary today passes Bill tittled "A Bill for a Law to Establish And Regulate Akwa Ibom State Official Symbols, And for other matters connected therewith." to Law.  The Bill establish the official symbol of the State to include the State Anthem, State Flag, State Coat of Arms, Creed, and Slogan and that every 23rd September shall be observed as State Public Holiday/Thanksgiving Service to Mark Akwa Ibom Anniversary. It could be recalled that His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel forwarded this Executive Bill Executive Bill Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for enactment into law on the need for Akwa Ibom State  to have her official symbols  The bill which was given accelerated legislative process, passed through first and second reading and the Speaker Rt Hon. Aniekan Bassey in his ruling referred it to the House Committee on Information which is to report back to the House in two days....

 Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel sends list of  Chairmen and Members of Boards and Commissions to House of Assembly for consideration and approval.  The message in line with the extant laws was read at the plenary at the Assembly complex today. The affected commissions are Akwa Ibom State Civil Commission, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Service Commission, Uyo Capital City Development Authority, Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board and State Technical School Board.
