Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in its plenary today Tuesday 21st September, 2021 passes amended Traditional Rulers Law 2020 into law. this follows the report presented by Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudo - Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and member representing Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency on "A Bill for a Law to amend the Traditional Rulers Law 2020 and for other matters connected therewith." With the unanimous voiced vote support of members, the Bill was read the third time and passed to Law. According to the Bill, Amendment of Cap 134 LAKS 2000 is expected to correct the long title to Akwa Ibom State Council of Traditional Rulers and tenure of the Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers to pave way for second term after the first two years in office at the discreation of the Governor and on the approval of the House of Assembly. Williams Akpabio - Information Unit, AKHA, Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in its plenary today passes 142.7BN supplementary budget into law. this follows the report of the House Committee on Appropriation and  Finance as presented by the Chairman Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudo, member representing Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State Constituency on "A Bill for a Law to make supplementary provisions for the Service of Akwa Ibom State Government for the year ending on 31st December, 2021." The supplementary estimates is expected to cater for Agriculture, Special Duties (Airport), Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Works, Transport and Fire service etc. The Bill gave a proposition of  N142,724,539,000 made up of N39,302,000,000 for Recurrent Expenditure and N103,422,539,000 for Capital Expenditure. Williams Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA), Uyo. Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today resolved to rectify map of Akwa Ibom State, this follows a motion moved at the floor of the House by Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, member representing Eket State Constituency under Order three Rule one of the Standing Order of the House. The House resolved that the Surveyor-General of Akwa Ibom State should take immediate and appropriate steps to produce generally acceptable, approved and gazzetted map for the state and ensure that it is approved and gazzetted. That  all obnoxious, obsolete and inappropriate enactment or such processes concerning affected and relating to proper mapping should be urgently reviewed. His removal based on the report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the impeachment of Abasiama Etokakpan as Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council as presented at the floor of the house. Godwin Ekpo, member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency pursuant to order 3 Rule 1 of the Standing Order of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (6th Edition).
