FINANCIAL AUTONOMY TO STATE LEGISLATURES
Williams Akpabio - (Information Unit) AKHA, Uyo The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) on Tuesday shut down all State House of Assembly in the federation over the non-implementation of financial autonomy for State Legislatures and Judiciary The indifinite Strike action comes after the expiration of all ultimatums issued to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Association. The union locked the entrance and stationed at the entrance of the all States Assemblies, held banners calling on lawmakers and the federal government to ensure that financial autonomy is implemented before there will be legislation in the country. Speaking with reporters, Comrade Mohammed Usman, PASAN president, wondered why financial autonomy for the State Assemblies has not been implemented.
