Williams Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA), Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has today removes the embattled Oruk Anam Local Government Council Vice Chairman Hon. Abasiama Etokakpan from office. His removal based on the report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the impeachment of Abasiama Etokakpan as Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council as presented at the floor of the house. Adopting the report of the ad-hoc Committee as presented by the Committee chairman Hon. (Barr.) Wlliams Akpabio - information Unit (AKHA) Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of of Assembly in her plenary Tuesday reinstated Hon. Abasiama Etokakpan as the substantive Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council.  This follows the report of the House Committee on local government and Chieftaincy Affairs on an act of complete illegality and mess on democratic tenets represented to the house on the purported impeachment of Hon Abasiama Etokakpan from office. Presenting the Committee's report at the plenary, Rt. Hon. Mark Esset  pointed out that Hon. Abasiama Etukakpan was in the first instance, not served any official notice of impeachment. AKHA RATIFIES TWO YEARS AUDITED ACCOUNTS OF 31 LGAs

Akwa Ibom State  House of Assembly has ratified a report of the Auditor General on the arrears of two years of  accounts of the 31 Local Government Councils in the state. The audited accounts which were from January - December, 2015 and January- December, 2016 were considered by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly during its plenary, Tuesday. The report was submitted by the House Committee on Public Accounts chaired by Hon. Charity Ido of Ukanafun State Constituency. Presenting the report, the Chairman said the Committee examined various reports  which contained unresolved audit  queries across the 31 Local Government Councils. AKHA RATIFIES STATE GOVT COVID-19 BUDGET REPORT

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has ratified the Covid 19 budget report of the State Government for last quarter ending December 2020 as presented by the Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon Charity Ido, member representing Ukanafun State Constituency. The House which dissolved into a Committee of the Whole to discuss the Covid 19 Report, came out with the following recommendations: That the State Government should seek support from the Federal Government and other relevant agencies to make it a matter of priority to support Covid 19 budgets since it is a global phenomenon. The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has refuted the alleged INK Newspaper publication of N35m fund released by state government to each lawmaker for the midterm thanksgiving service coevally hosted by members of the 7th Assembly on Sunday, 20th June 2021 throughout the 26 state constituencies. Presented at the floor of the  House of Assembly as matter of urgent public importance by member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Rt. Hon.
