Anietie Eka, member representating Uyo State Constituency in today's plenary under order III of the Standing Order of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly raised motion for Urgent need to rid the premises of Former Uyo Main Market of Miscreants and Other Dangerous Human Elements using the Neglected Structures as a Hide-Away Spot to Commit Crimes like Armed Robbery, Rape and such Nefarious Activities by Juvenile Deliquescents and Subsequently, Utilize the Space for a Profitable Enterprise. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey refered the motion to a joint committees on Environment, Security, Youth and Sport for further legislative actions and report back in one month. Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in it's plenary yesterday read the second time a Bill tittled "A Bill for a Law to Establish Akwa Ibom State Road Traffic Authority and for other matters connected therewith" sponsored by Hon. (Dr.) Charity Friday Ido member representating Ukanafun State Constituency. The Speaker Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey referred the Bill to House Committee on Works and Transport for further Legislative actions and to report back in one month. Similarly, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudo, member representating Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo state Constituency in the floor of the house presented a motion on Notice on the Development of Tourist Sites in Ikot Abasi into Tourist Centres. Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in it's plenary today passes Bill tittled "A Bill for a Law to Establish And Regulate Akwa Ibom State Official Symbols, And for other matters connected therewith." to Law.  The Bill establish the official symbol of the State to include the State Anthem, State Flag, State Coat of Arms, Creed, and Slogan and that every 23rd September shall be observed as State Public Holiday/Thanksgiving Service to Mark Akwa Ibom Anniversary. It could be recalled that His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel forwarded this Executive Bill Executive Bill Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for enactment into law on the need for Akwa Ibom State  to have her official symbols  The bill which was given accelerated legislative process, passed through first and second reading and the Speaker Rt Hon. Aniekan Bassey in his ruling referred it to the House Committee on Information which is to report back to the House in two days....

A Bill for a Law to Establish the Akwa Ibom State Anti-stigma and Discrimination of Persons Living with HIV/AIDS and for Other Matters Connected Thereto on Thursday scaled through First Reading at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.  The Bill which is sponsored by the Member representing Abak State Constituency, Hon.
