AKHA House Committee on Rural Development on a facility tour to Jubilee Syringe Company (JSM)

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Rural Development led by it's Chairman Rt. Hon.(Dr.) Usoro Akpanuso member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency on Wednesday as part of their oversight function visits Jubilee Syringe Company Awa in Onna local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to the Chairman, the facility inspection was to evaluate what the company has done, share opinion and to encourage the company to maintain the standard of production that will stand a taste of time within and outside Africa.
Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Akpanuso thank His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel for having the industrialization foresight for JSM, he observed that the product of the company is widely use to outside the country and urges the company to put every mechinery in place to continue the business even after the Administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The lawmaker further urges the company management to establish a strong community relationship, regular remittance of tax and taking local content into consideration. He assured the company that the 7th Assembly under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey is ready to make laws that will provide an enabling environment and security for the protection of lives and properties of it's citizenry.
The General manager of Jubilee Syringe Company (JSM) Mr. Akin Oyorinde who received the committee disclosed that the company is waiting to export their products. He make known that the company among the nine syringe companies produces syringe at a million capacity and that they would soon extend to the production of other products like face mask, gloves etc.
Taking the committee round the production site, the managing Director of JSM said that the raw materials used are sourced locally and that the company has employed Akwa Ibomites to work for the company for it is not hard to hire manpower from Akwa Ibom because Akwa Ibom People are hard working people.
Responding further to questions asked by Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko former Speaker and member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State constituency on where and how people can easily have access to the company's product, Mr. Oyorinde said that the company has four Sales Manager and eight sales representative at different locations in the country and that the company does not sale directly to the market but through distributors.
Hon. Udeme Otong, the vice Chairman of the committee and member representing Abak State Constituency in a vote of thanks appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel and the company for taking the company to Akwa Ibom State.
The Chief Whip Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, member representing Ini State constituency in his contribution urged the company to employ the system of sustainable management and make way to increase the production quota in other to meet up the demands.
Other members of the committee present were Rt. Hon. Effiong Bassey member representing Oron/Urueofong Oruko, Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem member representing Itu, Hon. Godwin Ekpo member representing Ibiono Ibom, Hon. (Barr.) Otobong Bob member representing Nsit Ubium, Hon. Anietie Eka member representing Uyo, Hon. (Barr.) Victor Ekwere member representing Mkpat Enin state constituencies, and the Committee Clerk Mrs. Unwana Idungafa.
