7TH AKWA IBOM STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AMMENDS STANDING ORDER

This follows the adoption of the report of House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges on the amendment of the standing orders of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (6th Edition) as presented by her Chairman Hon. (Barr.) Otobong Effiong Bob, member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency. After the adoption of the report by more than 2/3 member of the 7th Assembly, the Hon. Speaker Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey directed House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges to produce printed copies of a new edition of the standing orders of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as amended. Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel sends list of Commissioners and Special Advisers to House of Assembly

Williams Akpabio -AKHA (Aide), Uyo The Hon. Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey in today's plenary presented list of Commissioners and Special Advisers forwarded by  His Excellency Gov. Udom Emmanuel seeking for clearance and confirmation for appointment via letter no. GHU/AKS/S/104/VOL.9/579 of 18th December, 2020 in line with section 192 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.  The nominees are: Uko Essien Udom, SAN Idongesit Iboro Etiebiet John James Etim Pastor Umo Eno Meanwhile, the Hon. Speaker refered the matter to House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Right and Public Petition for further legislative actions and to report back to the house in two (2) days time. However, plenary was adjourned to Thursday, 24th December, 2020 at about 10 am.

2019 AUDIT/ACCOUNT REPORT: A’IBOM ASSEMBLY COMMENCES INVESTIGATION

 (C) Ndiuwem Okuku - AKHA, Uyo As part of measures to ensure accountability and transparency in the state financial records, the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, through its Ad-Hoc Committee, has commenced investigation into the alleged ‘faulty 2019 Audit/Accounts Report of the State Government.’  The Sir Udo Kierian Akpan-led ad-hoc Committee, which met on Monday at the Conference Room of the Assembly, cross-examined members of the State Executive Council over the discrepancies in the 2019 Audit/Account Report.
