A'IBOM ASSEMBLY INSPECTS MIMSHAC - MERKAVIM TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGIES AT ITU
.. Itu automobile assembly plant is not a scam, assures Commissioning 1st quarter 2022

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly through its Committee on Special Duties Wednesday went on oversight to MIMSHAC - MERKAVIM TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGIES at Ikot Ukap Itam in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The team led by its Chairman and member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko was received at the company site by the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Hon. Akan Okon; the Managing Director of the Company Mr.Valentine Okorie, the Company's Public Relation Officer (PRO) Timmy Roland among others.
According to the Lawmakers, the on-the-spot accessment of the Company's operation was in line with the Constitutional provisions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Standing Order of the House of Assembly.
However, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko in his remark noted that his last visit to the site was in 2015 as the Speaker of the 6th Assembly for the ground breaking ceremony of the company.
Rt. Hon. Uko commended His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel for bringing development closers to the people, and thereby confirmed that the automobile assembly plant is not a scam as alleged by some people, having seen the progress so far, he assured the company of government support for a successful completion of the plants and thank the people of Itu Local Government Area for their peaceful coexistence with the company and thereby called for more support.
The committee Chairman went further to applaud the vision of His Excellency the Governor, in his words, "Governor Udom Emmanuel has captured the air space with IBOM AIR, he will capture the water soon with IBOM DEEP SEAPORT, with the completion of this car Assembly plant ongoing, the land is captured. With what we witnessed today, it is a good deal for the prosperity of Akwa Ibom".
Earlier in his speech, The Hon Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Hon. Akan Okon commended the assembly for its oversight duties and described its legislation as taking evidence based decided, speaking on technology transfer, he assured the assembly that the company will trained and employ our youths and that that the plant will produce vehicles that will have a taste of time.
Similarly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, Deputy Chairman and Chief Whip; Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh (Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo) and Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem (Itu), in their separate remarks, charged the MD to prioritize high quality standards, be Local content law compliance and as well ensure that the Plant is ready for operation at the projected time of the first quarter of 2022 in order to key into Governor Udom Emmanuel completion agenda.
Taking the committee round the company to see things for themselves, Mr. Okorie the managing director of the company make known that the committee is at its gestational period and that soon the company will turn the jungle into a mega industrial Area. He added that MIMSHAC is partnering with MERKAVIM Company in Holland.
The company Boss further assured the people of the state that MIMSHAC - MERKAVIM TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGIES will produce smart and durable motors that will showcase the potential of Akwa Ibom State.
He thank His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel for his tremendous support to the company and for providing all necessary assistance, mostly for providing a dedicated and uninterrupted power lines from the sub station to the company.
Counting the achievement of the company so far, the company Boss said that the company is about 98% completed and will be ready for commissioning by the first quarter 2022.
Mr. Okodi also said that the company has built a well equipped Staff Clinic with water and electricity, built and completed paint house, Board room and offices
furthermore, he assured that the company will employ about 600 workers to work on 3 shift at 8 hours each and promised that soon 20 indigenes of the state will be sent to Israel for training,
Explaining more, the managing Director of the company disclosed that the company will have the capacity to assemble daily, 72 SUV cars, 52 Mini Buses, 36 Midi Buses (Smart Stainless Buses with free WiFi and USB charging port per seat)
meanwhile, he said that NURTW (Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers) has entered into agreement through its Cooperative scheme for 5000 pieces of Mini Buses.
Other present at the event were financiers of the plants from Zenith Bank Plc, Committee Clerk Mrs Unwana Idungafa and others
