Hon. Barr. Victor Ekwere, member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly yesterday Wednesday doles out 6 Cars, 1 Mini Bus, 2 Industrial Sewing Machine, 10 Manual Sewing Machine, Wrappers and Millions of Financial Empowerment to his constituents at Esa Ekpo village in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area,
The high point of the event at mega empowerment program organized by Mkpat Enin lawmaker was Thanksgiving Service and empowerment program for the constituents.
Car beneficiaries were his Media Aide Mr. Victor Ufot, the Chairman Mkpat Enin Youth Council Etubom Emem Alex, Nsikanabasi Joseph Akpan, Ufot Ekim, Ufot Akpan Udo and Unwana Sunday Etukudo, while Mini bus went to Ikpoima Williams, sewing machines, financial Empowerments, wrappers to his core supporters and grants to 13 students.
The Hon. Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey who Commissioned the items remarked that Hon. Ekwere is always standing for what he believes will foster development and democracy.
The Working Speaker uses the medium to solicit support for His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel's completion agenda, and for Hon. Victor Ekwere in his bid for continuation plan.
Making his account of Stewardship, Hon . Ekwere scored himself of 70% representation so far. Speaking further, the astute lawmaker declared that he has silently empowered his constituents through phone calls, bereavement, payment of hospital bills, or school fees, built 7 Solar power boreholes projects in 7 villages across the Constituency, had earlier empowered 15 Women leader with motor cycle, distributed palliatives and cash to widows and aged women across the 15 Wards of his Constituency during the COVID-19 pandemic, Renovated 2 classroom blocks consisting of 4 classes each at QIC Primary School, Ibiaku, Distributed 600 dual school desk to 15 Primary School across the Local Government Area among others.
As the Chairman, House Committee on judiciary Human Right, Justice and Public Petition, he has moved many important motions and supported many Bills including a motion for urgent need to curb extortion of electricity consumers in Akwa Ibom State, a motion for Trespass and Sale of Government land; call for Urgent attention, a motion for urgent need to relocate roadside traders from the busy Ikot Ekpene/Ikpa Road roundabout and other locations in Uyo metropolis, and a motion as a matter of urgent Public importance on the increasing rate of insecurity in Ikot Ebak village, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area and its environs.
The lawyer cum Lawmaker also added that he has used his office to campaign for durable roads in his locality and thank His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel for approving Nkikara - Ibot - Ikot Udoidem - Ikot Usop road and for the assurance of constructing Ibekwe - Ikot Akpaden Road which are in a different state at the moment, promised will receive government attention immediately the rain subsides.
Hon. (Barr). Victor Ekwere conclusively assured Mkpat Enin people that he will not relent on his promise because his "word is his bond" and that his empowerment program is a continuous exercise to improve the living and social standard of his people, the working Assembly member thereby employ his teeming supporters to be patient as his empowerment will reasonably go round in the coming months.
