A'IBOM ASSEMBLY ON ROAD INSPECTION

As part of the primary functions of the State Assembly lawmakers, as enpowered by the Constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria and the standing order of the House of Assembly; 


AKHA House Committee on Works and Transport led by it's Chairman Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, member representing Eket State Constituency on Wednesday enbarked on an on-the-spot accessment to Abak and Obot Akara Local Government Areas in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of the state to ascertain the level of work done after the State Governor has ordered all contractors to return back to project sites.


The legislators commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the massive road projects going on in the rural areas of the State to boast the state economy and for opening more linking roads for community development in actualizing the policy thrust of Dakadda philosophy



 At the 6.36km Nko - Ikpe Mbak Eyop - Ikot Abia Osom Road in Obot Akara Local Govt Area under construction by Flash Point Technical Services Ltd.


 The committee charged the company to expedite action to meet up with the completion agenda of this administration and also urges them to do quality work. 



The Project Manager Engr. Nnana Okon who received the committee said that the company has completed the drainage of the road and 30% of the earth work. 


He however disclosed that the project was awarded by Akwa Ibom State Government to the company in April 2019 with proposed completion time frame of 18 months



However, The Committee had earlier visited 18.5km road project executed by JPC  Signa Nigeria Limited at Abak 10 - Ibiakpan -Abiakpo Otoro - Manta road in Abak Local Government Area.



The Project Manager, Engr. Mono Taktouk who Received the committee at the project site disclosed that the Company has so far asphalted 4km of the road while they are working towards completing the next 4km with a total of 40% work completion. 


The committee expressed satisfaction with the quality and level of work done,  emphasised on timely delivery and charged construction companies to adhere strictly to contractual standard.

Uduak Odudoh- Member representing Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo, Rt. Hon. Effiong Bassey - Member representing Oron/Udung Uko,  Rt. Hon. Asuquo Archibong- Member representing Urefong Oroko, Chief Effiong Johnson,  Member representing Mbo, Hon. Victor Ekwere, Member representing Mkpat Enin and the Committee Clerk - Ms. Uduak Ebong Okon
