NIPR ADMONISHES WORKERS TO BUILD CREDIBLE PROTOCOLS, SPEECHES AND GOOD REPUTATION OF EMPLOYERS

Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) stressed the importance of good reputation through effective Speech writing and urged Public Relations and Protocol Officers to do all to ensure good image for their organisations.
The organization in conjunction with Kee Koimmunications Limited held A-2 Day International Speech Writing & Protocol Workshop (Uyo 2021) at Ibom E-library, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State on 2nd - 3rd February 2021 on a theme "Speeches Can Build Minds And Bouy Reputation."
The State Commissioners for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong earlier in the workshop said that, there was urgent need for responsible officers to acquire sufficient skills and knowledge to enable them guide their principals and employers on the expectations of their official life and to know the rudiments of protocol rules of government officials.
The Commissioner opined that poor protocol handling may mar most events and called on Government Officials to allow themselves be managed by Public Relation and Protocol managers in order to avoid most of the blunders
Presenting certificates to the participants, the State Commissioners for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong duly represented by his Permanent Secretary Mr. Inyang Jameson, in his closing remark expressed appreciation to both the Resource Persons and Participants for making the workshop successful and hoped that, knowledge acquired will be effectively utilized by participants for effective performance and maximum productivity in their different organisations.
The workshop featured series of presentation to boggle Protocol Officers, Public Relations Practitioners as well as Information Officers strategically to knead their principals and employers to enable them live up to the protocol standard practice demanded of their offices; it includes paper presentation on modern tactics in protocol management and reputation building in the 21st century by Mr. Victor Sibeko of South Africa and Effective Speech writing in image and Reputation Management Equation by Pastor Anietie Ukpe.
Others were, presentation by Dr. Nsikanabasi Nkana on Reputation management, the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How, in speech writing. This paper clearifies that good reputation is not picked on the streets, it is built overtime, but can be destroyed in minutes and that the composition of a speech can create, build, manage, maintain and sustain individual and corporate reputation.
The Secret of Effective Protocol Management in a political/government environment: The odds against protocol personnels by Mr. Ralph Edem, the SSA to the Governor on Protocol. In his presentation, he said protocol has various definitions, described Protocol as the right way of doing things and the rules governing a particular institution and establishment, emphasising that Protocol practices differ across countries and cultures.
Similarly, Mr. Sam Uko FNIPR. Presented his paper on "Requisite ingredients in speech writing to communicate the Value, Vision and Mission of an organization in strategic Reputation Management" according to him, organizational Values is the principles or standard behaviour and a common shared believe of what is acceptable in the society, Vision act as a description of organizational desired future position while Mission is the description of organization business, it's objectives, principles and approach to reach the core business expression of the organization.
On his part, a doyen of NIPR, Mr. Sam Uko, in his paper also noted that reputation is the key to the success of every organization and urges the participants to try ulmost best to build the integrity and credibility of the organization they represent.
The workshop drew participants from Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Ministry of Special Duties, as well as other government establishments and cooperate organizations.
