Abasiama Etokakpan as the Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council The investigative meeting presided by the committee Chairman Rt. Hon. Mark Esset, member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency held at the Conference Hall of the Assembly, had in attendance the Members of the House Committee, Oruk Amam Council Chairman Rt. Wlliam Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA) Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today Thursday passed resolution on a motion about safety concern of Akwa Ibom road users; the need for adequate provision of traffic signs and traffic lights in strategic portions of our roads This motion was moved by Hon. Godwin Ekpo, member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency pursuant to order 3 Rule 1 of the Standing Order of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (6th Edition). The motion highlighted that, the number of available traffic signs, traffic lights and speed signs on our road are far less than required for the safety of drivers and pedestrians and that continuous neglect of adequate traffic signs, traffic lights and speed signs/limits in our roads can be very dangerous as proper road safety information will not be communicated to road users to maintain order and reduce accidents. COMMISSIONING OF IKOT OKU IKONO FLYOVER

(c) Press Unit, AKHA, Uyo The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aniekan Bassey today accompanied the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, National and State Legislators and other prominent sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom State and beyond to the official inauguration of Ikot Oku Ikono Flyover. The Commissioning was done by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR), former President of Nigeria. In his opening remarks, the Governor described the Flyover as a creative idea of which God can use the human mind to do in the face of scarcity and adversity. A'IBOM ASSEMBLY APPROVES GOV. UDOM EMMANUEL'S N7 BILLION LOAN REQUEST

Williams Akpabio - Information Unit (AKHA), Uyo Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, today Thursday approves N7 billion loan to the State Government for Agriculture and Housing projects in the State. The two (2) loans request was read separately as messages from the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel to the House of Assembly during it's plenary.. According to Governor Emmanuel's request, N5 billion will be obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the cultivation of Coconut, Cocoa and maize while N2 billion loan facility will be obtained for 650 Housing units in Ibiono Ibom and Itu Local Government Areas of the State for low income earners and civil servant from The Family Home Fund. According to the Governor's message, the CBN Commercial Agricultural Credit Scheme would boost the cultivation of cocoa, coconut and maize in the state.
